The common school desk has been at the centre of the traditional classroom since its invention during the Industrial Revolution.  An icon of educational practice itself, the desk is a static island for the student, staking out the individual ‘territory’ of the learner.  Arranged in neatly organized rows, the desk has emerged as a symbol for order, control and efficiency. This 13' tall wheel offers a vision for the next direction in education: one  of interconnectedness and collaboration.
